We believe everyone deserves access to AI — without giving up control of their data.

Librarian is designed for AI sovereignty: local document search, offline-ready workflows, and secure LAN access — built for homes and small businesses.

Bring AI sovereignty to every home and business.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring useful, trustworthy AI into everyday life — while keeping data in the place it belongs: inside your home or small business. We focus on privacy-first design, local execution, and grounded answers that come from your own information.

Our Journey

Librarian is part of a long-term vision for AI sovereignty. We saw how quickly AI could close knowledge gaps — answering questions, summarizing complex material, and accelerating research. But we also saw the tradeoff: many cloud AI tools require sending sensitive information to third parties.

We needed a way to ask questions across large internal documents — often hundreds of pages — without exposing proprietary data. So we built our own tool: a local-first assistant that could read, retrieve, and answer using the documents we already owned.

Librarian started as a small console prototype that made PDFs readable for local AI. As RAG matured, we implemented local document retrieval and a vector database. When agentic workflows emerged, we adopted them to improve coverage and reduce missing details — especially for complex questions.

Today, Librarian is our answer for teams and households that want private local AI with offline-ready document search and secure LAN access.

Interface

Librarian isn't a typical chat box. We reimagined the experience to reduce hallucinations and keep answers grounded in your documents — so the output is useful, verifiable, and practical.

Accessibility

Most local AI tools run on a single machine. Librarian can turn a trusted computer into an LLM server for your home or small office. Use LAN mode to add approved devices and control access with built-in trust management.

Security

Librarian is built for privacy-first local AI. Your documents stay inside your environment, and LAN access is designed to remain private — helping prevent accidental exposure and data leakage outside your network.
